Footscray is in Melbourne’s Inner West, one of the most ethnically diverse regions of Melbourne. This diversity is reflected in the variety of places to eat and worship, which attracts buyers looking for more affordable or interesting alternatives to the Inner North. These buyers are slowly exposing the region’s secrets to the rest of Melbourne, so they won’t stay secret for long. Public transport includes trams on a round-about route through Maribyrnong and Footscray, trains through West Footscray, Tottenham and Albion and bus services throughout the region. Car commutes can be marred by the Westgate Bridge but locals probably use Footscray or Dynon Roads anyway. Some argue that the Inner West extends as far South as Williamstown but we prefer to keep Williamstown as the jewel of the South West.
