Spotswood is in South West Melbourne which stretches along the edge of Port Phillip Bay from picturesque Williamstown to just past Werribee. Access to the CBD is by train or the Princess Freeway, or the Williamstown Ferry if you don’t work a full day or mind a cold commute in Winter. The closure of Toyota’s Altona plant in 2017 drained some economic confidence from local hearts, but if Broadmeadows is any indication, the pessimism will be short lived. Meanwhile, locals can distract themselves with trips to the spectacular Werribe Mansion, Werribe Open Range Zoo or some bird watching on the Cheetham Wetlands.
